Nottingham Teachers
Nottingham has a wealth of fabulous swing dance teachers to call its own.  Most regularly teach for Nottingham Swing Dance Society as well as at their own venues and are also available for private tuition, workshops and displays.

Lisa

The founder and administrator of this Nottingham Lindy Hop website.  She has a passion for this dance form and the music and wants to pass this enjoyment on to as many others as possible hoping to help bring it in to the city centre through organising easily accessible classes and social dances and promoting the events of others.

"After dancing for many years in Nottingham, I discovered Lindy hop when living in Wellington, New Zealand and then later in Sydney, Australia and am now completely hooked.

After returning to the UK, I joined the Nottingham Swing Dance Society and have been dancing with them for several years now as well as stretching my dancing wings in London, Manchester, Hertford, Leeds, Bristol, Leicester and Sheffield whenever I've had the chance.  I now teach classes for Nottingham Swing Dance Society (Trowell), Nottingham Lindy Hop (Sneinton) and Leicester Lindy Hop (Saffron Lane), have performed with the Savoy Stompers performance group and look forward to future performance opportunities.

In addition I have for several years also choreographed and directed Swing Era inspired musical numbers for the Nottingham Gang Show at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham."

Barry

Friendly, experienced dancer and teacher, currently teaching with Lisa at Sneinton on a weekly basis though also specialises in and teaches Balboa classes and workshops in Nottingham and Sheffield.  Endless patience and a careful and methodical approach makes Barry the perfect guiding hand for new dancers as well as those wanting to improve.

Nigel and Debbie
This amazing couple organise and run the Nottingham Swing Dance Society.  Both wonderful smooth dancers with a real passion for creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for all who attend.  Along with running the society they both teach at Trowell alternating with Brian and Linda, Lisa and the superb Robin and Raven.  Both Nigel and Debbie have previously danced with the Savoy Stompers performance group in addition to creating performance groups of their own involving all of our regular keen dancers from the weekly classes for a range of local events.

Robin and Raven

Full of energy, this marvellous couple teach exciting, interesting classes on a regular basis at Trowell in Nottingham and also teaching adhoc intermediate/advanced specials to which we all look forward.  Previous members of the London based Lindy Circle Performance Group they are also members of the Savoy Stompers.

John

Full of energy and with a real passion for Balboa, John has recently started up Nottingham Balboa with classes running weekly at St Paul's Church Hall, Daybrook, Nottingham

Brian and Linda

A long standing teacher at Trowell, Brian's attention to the details of the dance will get you swinging out like a pro in no time at all.  He's also the resident 'Shag dance' expert alongside Linda and both are available for private classes for this and/or Lindy each week at Trowell before the beginners class gets underway.

Hayley and Terry

Hayley and Terry are currently working with Broxtowe Borough Council to create swing era themed workshops, classes and events for schools and their communities.  You've probably seen them out dancing around Nottingham in the evenings, they'll dance Lindy anywhere!  They've now started their own swing music night called Revival; every Thursday at The Embankment, Trent Bridge with a beginners Lindy Hop class at the start they play all sorts of music (modern and classic) to swing out and social dance to all the way through till late.
